Enchanted - Alethea Kontis

Not only is this cover gorgeous, and completely represents what the book is about to me (a fairytale told to perfection) which this cover plays on, I also felt like it captured Sunday's dreaminess.  And having Grumble on the cover also adds to the magic that is this read.  The interior of the book is also incredible lovely.  All of the chapter titles, etc. are set up to mimic old fairytale layouts.  There is so much about this book that I could rant and rave about, but I'm a cover lover, and I can honestly say I probably wouldn't have added it to my "to read" list if I hadn't first been captured by the cover.  To read my review of Enchanted, which is one that I highly recommend for the fairytale lover in all of us (and definitely fun for all ages!) click here.

Unraveling Isobel - Eileen Cook

Unraveling Isobel was another book that I really enjoyed, and this cover (which from what I understand is the paperback and e-book cover) is GORGEOUS and completely embodies what the story is for me.  Not only does the lake play a massive role in the story, but this story is also really fun and sweet and romantic which I feel like the cover embodies.  Although I like the hardback cover, because it high lights that Isobel is an artist, which drives her mother crazy, what I love about this one is that through what she is wearing you can tell that she is more of a hipster/artist and it also shows the relationship that Isobel and Nate have.  I'm not a massive fan of books with kissing covers, but I feel like this one still gives you that romantic aspect without being overly gross.  And the font! So lovely and perfectly placed.  This cover is just so - lovely and minimalistic that I completely adore it!  I also feel like it's geared more towards an older YA audience, which I felt that book embodied.  Ah, so lovely.  For my review on Unraveling Isobel click here.

Hopeless Wanderer's Pick

Amy and Roger's Epic Detour.  Now, all of you know that I adore this book in the most high order.  I read it three or four times a year, and what first drew me to it was the cover.  I love to road trip, it's the best kind of vacation in my opinion so when I saw a cover of two people holding hands in the middle of the road, I knew that this book was going to be amazing, and boy I was right.  There are so many things about this cover I love, it perfectly catches the spirit of the novel, in both is ambiguity in not showing Amy and Roger's faces, to it's placement, with them being in California, Nevada, or Utah (I like to imagine the loneliest road in America, but I'm almost 100% that's not it, it's just one of my favorite parts - the whole book is my favorite part)  I love the script too (especially the E, in Epic, isn't it so gorgeous?) and how everything has the summer-y feel with the yellow wash.  I LOVE that hint of best friends or something more with the interlocking fingers.  A perfect cover for one of my favorite reads!

The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare.

I couldn’t pick just one cover to love. So I picked two series. What more can I say about these covers besides they are absolutely beautiful! Whoever the artist was who designed them, I’m recruiting when I publish my book. And the covers reflect what is written inside them. Pure. Awesomeness. I love how for the first few books of The Mortal Instruments, you can’t see their faces, and then eventually you do. I honestly wish they would have the models for the cover be the actors in the movie! They are how I imagined the characters when I read the books. I’m not one for endorsing tattoos, but the shadowhunter’s tats are awesome! I like how they’re somewhat translucent on the cover, even though that’s not how they are in the books. And of course I can’t forget the wonderful Infernal Devices. Those covers just captured the essence of what the story is about. I can sum up why I like these covers in one word; BEAUTIFUL.

Cover Loving 1st Edition

Okay, so imlovingbooks.com came up with this idea.  None of us know I'm Loving Books, or their reviewer (though Hopeless subscribes to her mailing list)  Anyways: this idea is hers.  Well, the idea behind our idea which is slightly (just slightly) different, is from her.  Basically we're going to post one cover each (from anytime) and then state why we like said cover.  Truly Becoming, is, unfortunately dealing with school stuff so she won't be able to participate this time around, but both of us are excited about it.  So: Cover Loving, 1st Edition.

Hopeless Wanderer's Pick:  Old Magic Marianne Curley

Old Magic was one of the first technically "young adult" books I read.  And the only reason I picked it up at the bookstore was because of the cover.  Jarrod is HOT.  And when your fourteen and choosing books at the bookstore, hottness is a massive factor, and Kate was exactly how I imagined her.  Not to mention the bit of a tease in the background, with the castle and the lightening bolt.  I felt like this cover perfectly illustrated the story.  And because I read it, I became a fan of Marianne Curley for life.  Check out her books for some really fun reads.  And buy this cover so you can stare at Jarrod's beautiful face from your nightstand.  And also close the book and sigh every time he says something sweet and endearing. (I was FOURTEEN, stop judging)




New Romantic's Pick: Angelfire Courtney Allison Moulton

Yes, more, more more about Angelfire. What can I say? I'm obsessed--seriously. I actually picked this book up at Barnes and Noble back in February because I was like "whoa! girl with sword, dressed in black; she's gonna kick some ass!" and the other reason, the book called to me. The cover made the synopsis sound even more bad-a. Plus who doesn't like hot reaper boyfriends/fallen angels and girls who can kick serious butt? I know I like it! Angelfire's cover reminds me of a Supernatural (tv show) still. Where girls are aloud to be AWE.SOME! (I say the 3rd book should have Will on the cover! Then I'd sleep with the book next to my face-haha).
